Hyderabad, July 24 -- Educational institutions across Telangana remained closed on Friday following a statewide bandh called by various student unions demanding the resignation of union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the alleged NEET paper leak and repeated failures in the conduct of examinations.

Responding to the bandh call, private schools and colleges in Hyderabad and several other districts declared a holiday. S N Reddy, State President of the Telangana Recognised Private Schools Association, said that more than half of the nearly 3,500 private schools within the GHMC limits remained closed for the day. Private junior and degree colleges also suspended classes.
