Nashik, May 19 -- Troubles for alleged self-styled godman Ashok Kharat continue to mount. Stepping up its action in cases involving the sexual exploitation of women, fraud, and money laundering, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has taken Kharat into custody and transported him to Mumbai.
He will now undergo detailed interrogation at the ED office.
According to reports, the ED completed the necessary judicial formalities in Nashik to take Ashok Kharat into custody.
Subsequently, the central agency took him into its custody from the Nashik Central Jail, and he was transported to Mumbai under tight security.
According to sources, he is expected to be produced before a PMLA court shortly.
