Chennai, July 14 -- Bringing a new twist to the sensational ruling TVK MLA horse-trading case in Tamil Nadu, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Tuesday stepped in for a likely probe into the money laundering angle, putting the principal opposition DMK onthe defensive.

Entry of the central probe agency is expected to tighten the noose against DMK strongman and former minister V Senthil Balaji, andhis brother V Ashok Kumar, arraigned as accused among others in the case relating to the alleged attempt to bribe the ruling Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) Legislator Dr N Elayaraja to switch sides with a bribery offer of Rs 35 crores.

The ED has obtained copies of documents about the case from the Greater Chennai City Police, sources here said. ...
