New Delhi, May 7 -- The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Thursday conducted search and seizure operations against two real estate groups involved in fraudulent Change of Land Use (CLU) approvals and cheating of landowners and customers.
The ED alleged that Suntec City (Indian Cooperative Housing Building Society), along with Suresh Kumar Bajaj and Ajay Sehgal of the same society, prepared fake consent letters for 30.5 acres of land belonging to 15 landowners. These consent letters reportedly contained forged signatures and thumb impressions to obtain CLU permissions for a mega real estate project named "Suntec City."Based on these forged documents, the society was granted CLU approval and subsequently collected over Rs 150 crore by enrollin...
