Chennai, Aug. 27 -- Officials of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) arrested a businessman and film producer C Alagappan and three of his family members on money laundering charges linked to the alleged cheating of actress-politician Gautamni Tadimalla by fraudulently selling her properties and siphoning off the funds.
Those arrested were Alagappan (66), his wife Nachal (60), son Siva (35) and daughter-in-law Aarthi (33).
All of them were produced before a court which granted bail to Aarthi as she has to take care of her infant child, while remanding the other three in judicial custody. The trio were subsequently lodged in Puzhal Central Prison here.
