Bhubaneswar, June 8 -- With the arrival of the monsoon season, the East Coast Railway (ECoR) has launched a Special Safety Drive on "Monsoon Precautions" across its Khurda Road, Sambalpur and Rayagada divisions from June 10 to 25 to ensure safe, reliable and uninterrupted train operations during the rainy season.
The drive will involve intensive inspections, preventive maintenance and continuous monitoring of railway infrastructure vulnerable to heavy rainfall and adverse weather conditions.
Special emphasis is being placed on tracks, bridges, culverts, tunnels, embankments, cuttings, drainage systems, signalling installations, electrical assets and overhead equipment.
