Kolkata, Sept. 13 -- The tussle between the Mamata Banerjee and Ritabrata Banerjee camps over control of the Trinamool Congress and the party's election symbol took an interesting turn after the Election Commission gave Mamata Banerjee until September 16 to submit any further statements or documents in the dispute.

The poll panel held separate meetings with representatives of the two camps in New Delhi on Saturday and said both sides had submitted documents supporting their claims.

In a letter to Mamata Banerjee following the hearing, the Commission asked her to inform it by 3 pm on September 16 whether she has anything further to say or any additional documents to submit in the matter.
