Tarapith, Sept. 9 -- To accommodate the massive influx of devotees heading to the holy Shakti Peeth of West Bengal's Tarapith for the annual Kaushiki Amavasya Mela, Eastern Railway (ER) has announced special train services and coach augmentations between Howrah and Rampurhat.

These arrangements aim to clear the anticipated passenger rush and ensure smooth transit for pilgrims celebrating the festival of spiritual freedom. More than six lakh devotees are expected to participate in the Kaushiki Amavasya festival in Tarapith tomorrow.

A dedicated special train will operate between Howrah and Rampurhat from September 10 to September 13, 2026.
