Port Vila, Aug. 16 -- A magnitude 6.1 earthquake struck the Vanuatu Islands on Sunday, with no immediate reports of casualties or damage to infrastructure.
The German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) said the earthquake occurred at a depth of 155.1 kilometres (96 miles). No tsunami warning was issued following the tremor.
The epicentre was initially located at 14.52 degrees south latitude and 167.23 degrees east longitude.
