Chennai/Hyderabad, Aug. 20 -- The 31st Southern Zonal Council (SZC) meeting held in Mahabalipuram, Tamil Nadu, on Thursday under the chairmanship of union Home Minister Amit Shah, with Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu representing the State.
Addressing the meeting, Bhatti stressed the importance of the Southern Zonal Council as a forum for cooperative federalism, urging the Centre and States to resolve inter-State issues fairly, within a definite timeframe and in accordance with law.
He said States could compete for investments, industries, jobs and talent, but must cooperate on issues such as rivers, power, labour and infrastructure that cross State boundaries. "If southern India grows together, India grows faster,...
