New Delhi, June 23 -- Grey skies engulfed Delhi on Tuesday afternoon as squally winds swept across the city, bringing down visibility and temperatures in several areas.
At 2:30 pm, visibility at Palam Airport dropped sharply from 6,000 metres at 2:00 pm to just 800 metres within half an hour, according to officials from the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The IMD issued a red warning for the city, forecasting duststorms followed by strong thunderstorms, lightning, and rain over several parts of Delhi.
Strong gusty winds of 80-100 kmph, accompanied by light to moderate rain, are expected over parts of South East Delhi, South Delhi, New Delhi, South West Delhi, West Delhi, and North West Delhi until 5:47 pm, according to the IMD's d...
