Durgapur, May 22 -- West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari on Thursday announced that the Durgapur Municipal Corporation elections will be held after the puja festivals.

The state government will assist the State Election Commission (SEC) in conducting the civic body polls in Howrah and Durgapur. After Durga Puja and Kali Puja, these elections will be held.

Before that, delimitation will be done and the final voters' list will be published. Municipal Affairs minister Agnimitra Paul herself is monitoring daily so that the regular administrative work remains smooth, he said.
