Ranchi, July 27 -- Ranchi on Sunday made its debut as a host city of the 135th IndianOil Durand Cup with a grand opening ceremony at the Birsa Munda Football Stadium, marking another milestone in the expansion of Asia's oldest football tournament.

Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Krishna Swaminathan, Jharkhand Tourism, Art, Culture, Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Sudivya Kumar, Chief of Staff, Headquarters Eastern Command and Chairman of the Durand Cup Organising Committee Lieutenant General Gambhir Singh, and other senior civil and military officials attended the ceremony.
