Chennai, Aug. 31 -- More than 1,000 people formed a Human Chain as part of the conclusion of the Drug Free Tamil Nadu campaign in Chennai on Monday, to create awareness against alcohol and drug abuse.

People from various walks of life, including intellectuals, educationists, men, women, school and college students, participated in large numbers in the human chain.

Participants carried awareness placards and raised slogans against alcohol and drug abuse. The messages expressed their strong opposition to substance abuse and their determination to protect the younger generation.
