Srinagar, July 16 -- A joint drive to prevent child labour was conducted on Thursday in the Watergam and Sopore area of Baramulla district with the objective of identifying children engaged in labour and ensuring the protection of their rights in accordance with the law, officials said.
During the drive, various commercial establishments, workshops, eateries, and other workplaces were inspected by the concerned authorities. The team interacted with employers, workers, and members of the public to assess the presence of child labour and to create awareness regarding the legal prohibition against engaging children in labour.
