Bengaluru, June 11 -- Former India captain Rahul Dravid on Thursday said the Maharaja Trophy has emerged as a key pathway to the Indian Premier League (IPL), with franchise scouts closely tracking performances in the Karnataka State Cricket Association's (KSCA) flagship T20 tournament to identify emerging talent.
Speaking after unveiling the trophy for the fifth edition of the Maharaja Trophy, Dravid said the tournament has become one of the most closely watched state-level leagues in the country and plays a crucial role in helping young cricketers earn opportunities at the highest level of franchise cricket.
