Kollam, March 19 -- The additional sessions court in Kollam will pronounce the sentence in the Dr Vandana Das murder case on March 21, bringing a crucial phase of the high-profile trial to a close.
The court had earlier found the accused, Sandeep, guilty of murdering Vandana, a young house surgeon, at the Kottarakkara Taluk Hospital in May 2023.
Vandana (23) was fatally stabbed while on duty in the hospital's casualty wing after the accused allegedly turned violent during treatment. The shocking incident had sparked widespread protests and intensified concerns over the safety of healthcare workers in the state.
