Kolkata, Oct. 24 -- National Award winner and Padma Shri awardee filmmaker, Madhur Bhandarkar, is set to direct "Shama - The Missing Chapter", a film on the life of Dr Syama Prasad Mukherjee, following an earlier announcement of a separate project on the political leader by associates from the Bengali film industry.
Bhandarkar will begin work on the project after completing his upcoming film "The Wives of Bollywood."The project aims to bring Mukherjee's life, political journey and legacy to the big screen. A scholar, statesman and strong voice for national unity, Dr Mukherjee played an important role during one of the most defining periods in India's history.
