London, May 12 -- Great Britain's Katie Archibald has called time on her track cycling career two years ahead of the Olympic Games LA28, announcing her retirement with immediate effect on Tuesday.

"After 13 years competing on the international stage, and a lifetime competing against my big brother, I've decided to retire from the former," the seven-time world champion said in a statement provided by British Cycling.
