Rio De Janeiro, May 16 -- Former Brazil head coach Dorival Junior has been appointed asthe manager of Sao Paulo for a third time, the Brazilian Serie A club said.

The 64-year-old replaces Roger Machado, who was sacked after a 3-1 Copa do Brasil defeat at Juventude on Wednesday.

He agreed to a deal that runs until December and will be joined by assistants Lucas Silvestre and Pedro Sotero, read a statement on Sao Paulo's official website on Friday.

Dorival previously managed over two spells with an overall record of 42 wins, 22 draws and 28 losses, according to Xinhua.
