Srinagar, July 21 -- Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and National Conference (NC) vice president Omar Abdullah on Tuesday defended his party's protest in New Delhi seeking restoration of Jammu and Kashmir's statehood, saying the campaign was aimed at reminding the Centre of its commitment.
Addressing a press conference a day after the NC-led demonstration in the national capital, Omar asserted that the restoration of Article 370 cannot be meaningfully pursued without first restoring Jammu and Kashmir's statehood.
He cautioned against linking the demand for statehood with the issue of Article 370, saying such a strategy could undermine the campaign.
