Hyderabad, March 10 -- Doctors at KIMS Hospitals in Kondapur here on Tuesday said that they have performed a rare and highly complex laparoscopic pancreatoduodenectomy (Whipple's surgery) on a patient who had previously undergone a kidney transplant and was later diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
According to Naveen Kumar CH, Consultant Surgical Gastroenterologist at KIMS Hospitals, the patient was on multiple immunosuppressive medications following the kidney transplant when pancreatic cancer was detected during a routine follow-up.
