Chandigarh, July 14 -- An on-duty house surgeon at Faridkot's Guru Gobind Singh Medical College and Hospital has been suspended following a shocking incident where hospital staff threw an unidentified patient's body out on the street.
The hospital authorities have initiated a formal internal probe into the matter.
The patient, an unidentified man found injured by the Ferozepur Police, was admitted to the hospital's surgery ward about a week ago. He died during treatment on Monday night. Instead of sending the body to the mortuary, hospital workers reportedly followed the house surgeon's orders and left the body near the local Rambagh area outside the premises.
