Ramanagara, April 29 -- Fresh speculation over a possible leadership shift in Karnataka resurfaced on Tuesday after Congress MLA Iqbal Hussain claimed that Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar could "get power" by May 15.

The remarks, made in Ramanagara, have triggered renewed political buzz within Karnataka Congress circles, where discussions around a future leadership transition have periodically surfaced since the party returned to power in 2023.

"We all want DK Shivakumar to get power. Under his leadership, we want to see more developmental works in the state. Many MLAs, ministers, workers, leaders, and the general public have the same wish," Hussain told reporters.

He went a step further by attaching a timeline to his assertion.
