Bengaluru, June 7 -- Bengaluru, June 7 (UNI) The Karnataka government on Sunday waded into the growing controversy over rising fuel costs, with Chief Minister DK Shivakumar seeking a detailed report on the latest LPG price hike and warning that steep increases in industrial gas and diesel prices could have far-reaching consequences for both households and businesses.

The intervention comes after the Centre approved a Rs 29 increase in the price of a 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinder, the second hike in just three months, intensifying concerns over the mounting burden on consumers already grappling with inflationary pressures.
