London, July 3 -- Novak Djokovic equalled Roger Federer's men's record of 105 Wimbledon singles victories after surviving a spirited challenge from France's Arthur Rinderknech 7-5, 6-4, 1-6, 7-6(4) to reach the fourth round of The Championships, Wimbledon on Friday.
The seven-time champion, chasing an eighth Wimbledon crown and a record-extending 25th Grand Slam singles title, was forced into a gruelling three-hour, one-minute battle on Centre Court before producing a flawless tie-break to halt the big-serving Frenchman's challenge.
The victory took Djokovic level with Federer on 105 men's singles wins at Wimbledon, with only Martina Navratilova, who has 120 victories, ahead of them in the tournament's all-time singles standings.
