Bhubaneswar, May 18 -- Liquor bottles discarded inside Odisha's roadside forests are turning out to be the latest threat to elephants, with wildlife conservationists warning that increasing human intrusion into forest habitats is exposing the animals to fatal injuries and infections.
The Wildlife Society of Orissa (WSO), an outfit espousing the cause of protection of wild animals, has expressed concern over the growing menace of liquor bottle littering in elephant habitats, attributing it to the rapid spread of IMFL (Indian Made Foreign Liquor) outlets across rural and interior parts of the state during the past decade.
