Bhubaneswar, Sept. 28 -- A disabled crude palm oil tanker carrying around 9,000 tonnes of cargo was successfully rescued and safely berthed at Paradip Port following a coordinated emergency operation involving the Paradip Port Authority (PPA), Indian Navy and Indian Coast Guard.
The MT SEAGULL 9, which suffered a main engine failure and developed a list of around 10 degrees due to water ingress into its ballast tanks, was safely towed into Paradip harbour by PPA's Harbour Tug Dolphin 25 and secured at NQ2 at around 4 PM on Monday.
The coordinated response ensured the safety of the vessel, crew and cargo while also preventing any threat to the marine environment.
