Chandigarh, May 9 -- Singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh on Saturday turned down a public appeal from a group of retired IAS officers, defence personnel, and professionals urging him to take over the leadership of Punjab, saying his role was limited to entertainment, not politics.

The appeal was issued by Chandigarh-based organization Jago Punjab Manch through a full-page newspaper advertisement that called upon Dosanjh to step forward and lead a state which it claimed had been weakened by successive governments.
