Lucknow, June 11 -- Differences have surfaced between the State Energy Minister A K Sharma and top officials of the Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) after the minister shot off a letter to UPPCL Chairman Ashish Goyal expressing his displeasure on several key issues and demanding explanations.

In the letter, which is being circulated in the public domain on Thursday, the Energy Minister has alleged that the decision to implement a 10 per cent FPPAS (Fuel and Power Purchase Adjustment Surcharge) on electricity bills from June 2026 was taken without his knowledge and permission. He stated that such decisions have affected the government's image and sent a wrong message to consumers.
