Bhubaneswar, July 28 -- Former union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan was accorded a rousing reception on his first visit to the state after stepping down from the Modi Cabinet, with BJP workers hailing his decision as a "sacrifice in the interest of the youth and the nation."Hundreds of party workers and supporters gathered at the Biju Patnaik International Airport to welcome Pradhan, raising slogans in his support and praising his decision to resign.

Pradhan was in Bhubaneswar to attend the release of a book on late VHP leader Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati. RSS General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale attended the programme as the chief guest, while Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi was the guest of honour.
