Dhaka, Oct. 21 -- Saudi Arabia is reported to have executed two Bangladeshi nationals six days ago over what it described as an "immoral act" inside a mosque in Mecca. Bangladesh has sent a second diplomatic note to Saudi Arabia seeking details of the death sentences and judicial proceedings involving the Bangladeshi nationals, Nazrul Islam and Sweety Akter, whose executions were reported by Saudi media.
Bangladesh Consul General in Jeddah Md Sakhawat Hossain raised the issue during a meeting with Farid bin Saad Al-Shehri, director general of Saudi Arabia's foreign ministry, in Jeddah on Monday.
