Srinagar, June 22 -- J&K Director General of Police, Nalin Prabhat on Monday chaired a comprehensive security review meeting (SRM) to assess counter-insurgency measures and security arrangements for the forthcoming Shri Amarnathji Yatra.

The security review meeting comes amid intensified preparations by security agencies and the civil administration for the annual pilgrimage, which is set to begin on July 3 and conclude on August 28.

The 57-day pilgrimage this year is expected to draw a large number of devotees, with over 3.5 lakh pilgrims having already registered for the annual yatra.
