Agartala, July 20 -- Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha has confirmed that the Director General of Police (DGP) Anurag Dhankar was discovered hanging from a ceiling fan in the washroom of the office chamber.
"An investigation has been promptly initiated, including a magisterial probe, and follow all others whatsoever necessary, as the government is committed to uncovering the truth," Dr Saha said.
While the circumstances point to a potential suicide, officials have refrained from issuing a definitive statement about the cause of death.
Senior police officials have emphasized that the case is currently under thorough investigation, urging against premature conclusions until the completion of forensic examination and police inquiry.
