New Delhi, May 23 -- Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Devender Yadav has raised concern over severe water shortage across several parts of the city during the ongoing peak summer season, alleging that many colonies are struggling to access basic drinking water.

Yadav said that the situation has worsened in several localities, particularly resettlement colonies, unauthorised settlements, slum clusters and group housing societies, where residents are reportedly dependent on water tankers or bottled water. He also alleged that rising prices of essential commodities have further increased the financial burden on poor families who are being forced to purchase drinking water.
