Bengaluru, May 18 -- Signalling that he is far from slowing down at 94, former Prime Minister H. D. Deve Gowda on Monday vowed to remain politically active and declared that the BJP-JD(S) alliance would continue into the 2028 Karnataka Assembly elections.
Celebrating his 94th birthday amid a show of strength by Janata Dal (Secular) workers and leaders, the JD(S) patriarch said he would continue fighting for the welfare of the people and strengthening the party organisation despite his advancing age.
"I want to stay active for some more time to fight for the people's cause," Deve Gowda said, striking an emotional and political chord with party cadres gathered to greet him.
