Bengaluru, May 11 -- Former Prime Minister and JD(S) patriarch HD Deve Gowda on Monday distanced himself from commenting on the Karnataka government and said his sole concern was the worsening condition of farmers, while pitching for a dedicated board for jackfruit, tamarind and jamun growers in the state.

"I don't want to speak about the Karnataka government. I have come here only to speak with regard to the farmers' problems. That is my concern," Deve Gowda told reporters in Bengaluru.

Calling himself the "senior-most politician in the country", the former Prime Minister said he did not want to "jump to conclusions" on political issues and instead wanted attention to remain on agrarian distress and post-harvest losses faced by farmers....
