New Delhi, April 20 -- India on Monday said the country's maritime operations, energy supplies and rural development programmes remain stable and fully functional despite the evolving security situation around the Strait of Hormuz, even as two Indian merchant vessels recently reported firing incidents in the region.
Providing an update, officials confirmed that the Indian-flagged crude oil tanker Desh Garima, carrying 97,422 metric tonnes of crude oil and 31 Indian seafarers onboard, safely transited the Strait of Hormuz on April 18 and is expected to reach Mumbai on April 22.
