Madurai, Aug. 13 -- The Tamil Nadu government has suspended Deputy Collector-rank officer Anbalagan following his arrest in connection with the alleged fraudulent transfer of a Rs 60-crore Trust property attached to the world famous Madurai Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple.
The Additional Chief Secretary/Commissioner of Revenue Administration issued the suspension order and it was served on Anbalagan at the Madurai Central prison.
He was arrested by the Madurai City Police on August 4 following an FIR registered by the Central Crime Branch based on a complaint from the Meenakshi Sundareswarar temple administration. FIRs were filed against 19 individuals for the fraudulent transfer of 1.79 acres of prime trust property to private parties.
