Copenhagen, June 2 -- Months after Denmark's general election, the country's acting Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, the leader of the Social Democratic Party, is set to assume office and form a centre-left coalition minority government.
The breakthrough ends 69 days of political uncertainty following March's election, one of the most fragmented in modern Danish history, in which 12 parties won seats in parliament.
Speaking to reporters following her meeting with King Frederik X, PM Frederiksen said a new cabinet would be unveiled on Wednesday, following what she called long and fraught negotiations.
