Hyderabad, March 29 -- BJP Rajya Sabha MP K. Laxman on Sunday accused the Congress of misleading the public on issues like delimitation and devolution, asserting that the proposed exercise would enhance representation for women and marginalised communities.
Addressing a media conference at the BJP state office, he said the Centre has proposed a 50 per cent increase in legislative seats to ensure no injustice to southern states, as clarified by union Home Minister Amit Shah.
He alleged that the Congress was distorting facts and creating a false North-South divide for political gains.
