New Delhi, June 17 -- An 18-year-old youth was arrested by the Central District Police after allegedly posting videos and stories on Instagram showing an illegal firearm, leading to the recovery of a country-made pistol and a live cartridge from his residence.
The accused, identified as Zaid, is employed at a pizza outlet and is involved in preparing and delivering pizzas, officials said.
Central District DCP Rohit Rajbir Singh said the police acted swiftly on specific information received about the social media posts and successfully apprehended the accused. He said further investigation is underway to ascertain the source of the weapon and identify any other persons involved.
