Pankaj JainNew Delhi, March 13 -- Delhi government's social welfare department has issued a circular directing that employees deployed as Booth Level Officers (BLOs) should not be assigned additional government duties so that they can focus on election-related work linked to the upcoming Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
In the circular sent to District Social Welfare Officers and heads of institutions, the department said that staff appointed as BLOs must carry out their election duties on a daily basis after office or school hours.
The move aims to ensure that election work is completed in time while regular government work continues without disruption.
