New Delhi, June 13 -- Delhi residents experienced a welcome respite from the scorching summer heat on Saturday as widespread rain, thunderstorms and strong winds brought temperatures significantly below normal across the national capital.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Safdarjung, the city's primary weather station, recorded a maximum temperature of 35.6 degrees Celsius, 4.3 degrees below normal, while the minimum temperature settled at 21.4 degrees Celsius, a remarkable 6.6 degrees below the seasonal average.
