New Delhi, Aug. 5 -- Businesses seeking approvals in Delhi could automatically receive clearances if government departments fail to act within prescribed timelines, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has said as the Delhi Cabinet considered the draft Delhi Ease of Doing Business Bill, 2026.
Calling the "deemed approval" provision one of the proposed law's key reforms, Gupta said applicants would be able to download approvals, registrations or No Objection Certificates (NOCs) directly from an online portal if the competent authority does not decide their application within the stipulated period. The provision is aimed at reducing delays and preventing files from remaining pending indefinitely, noted the official statement.
