New Delhi, July 18 -- Delhi Police have denied use of any force while shifting activist Sonam Wangchuk to Safdarjung Hospital in the early hours of Saturday after his health deteriorated following a 20-day indefinite hunger strike at Jantar Mantar.

Police officials said the move was taken on medical advice and in compliance with directions of the Delhi High Court.

"In accordance with the Honourable High Court's order and considering his health condition and expert medical advice, Mr Sonam Wangchuk has been shifted from here to a government hospital for treatment," said Sachin Sharma, DCP, New Delhi.

He further denied the use of any force and said that "there has been absolutely no lathi-charge or anything of that sort."The police appeale...
