New Delhi, June 1 -- Delhi Police have arrested two alleged vehicle thieves who stole four-wheelers from the national capital and sold them to buyers in Punjab and Rajasthan. Eight stolen vehicles have been recovered from their possession, police said.

The accused have been identified as Maninder Singh (32) and Harjot Singh (33), both residents of Punjab.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Rohini) Shashank Jaiswal, the duo was part of an organised vehicle-lifting network that targeted high-end cars in Delhi and transported them to Amritsar, Chandigarh, and Jaipur for disposal.

Police said a special drive was launched to curb vehicle theft and dismantle criminal networks involved in such activities across Delhi.
