New Delhi, July 20 -- The national capital witnessed unprecedented security arrangements on Monday as the Monsoon Session of Parliament commenced amid the Cockroach Janta Party's (CJP) call for a 'Chalo Sansad' march over the alleged NEET paper leak controversy and demands for education reforms.
With the proposed march lacking official permission, Delhi Police placed central Delhi under a high-security cover, deploying additional personnel, erecting multiple layers of barricades and carrying out intensive vehicle checks at strategic locations.
Surveillance was also stepped up across sensitive areas, including Parliament Street, Central Vista, Connaught Place and adjoining stretches.
