New Delhi, Aug. 7 -- After issuing a three-hour Red Alert for Delhi earlier in the day amid intense downpours, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has downgraded the warning to Orange and Yellow alerts across the National Capital Region, even as it cautioned that heavy to very heavy rainfall will continue into Saturday.

The relentless rain brought normal life to a crawl, triggering widespread waterlogging, massive traffic jams, slow-moving traffic, and disruption across several parts of Delhi-NCR. Authorities have advised commuters to avoid low-lying areas and check traffic updates before heading out.
