New Delhi, Aug. 20 -- The Master Plan 2047 for the national capital was unveiled on Thursday by the Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs Manohar Lal, Delhi Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, and Minister Ashish Sood.

Keeping in view the increasing population, development plans, need to improve overall quality of life, and have better housing for all, the master plan has been prepared after extensive consultation with experts, citizens, and stake holders concerned.

The minister has said that housing for all has been emphasized, and construction of around 40 lakh homes will be part of the plan to ensure people have a place to live with dignity, especially, the poor.
